Who would have known that Miami School was just off our route. A wonderful ride day. It was warm into the upper 80's but there was a cloud cover which helped with the heat. I rode most of the day with Lin, Carol, Jan & Karen, but it was fun beginning the first 5 or more miles with all of the riders.
I had some emotional moments in the first 20 miles. I'm not sure what brought them on, but Chris was definately on my mind. The reality hit me again, that he really isn't coming home.... I had a good cry, wiped my eyes and kept pedaling.
At about mile 30, I was stung by a bee on the neck. It stung like the dickens, but I had not swelling or side effects.
We drove through Salamonie River State Park. It was beautiful to ride through a tree lined road for a change of scenery.
Who would have thought that I'd be riding by Miami!
The corn was taller here.... About 20 inches or so.
Silos that would normally hold cob corn for the animals.
Beautiful barn
We enjoyed the tractor roof on this barn.
Lin & Jan riding through the Salamonie River State Park. I loved the canopy of trees over the roadway. Shade was so appreciated.
The Salamonie River dam.
The Salamonie River Reservoir. Look close and you'll see geese.
The mid west farms are so beautiful. I concur with this sentiment.
If lost in a small town, just ask directions from the UPS driver.
Lin, Carol, Jan, Me & Karen getting ready to go in the Brick House for lunch.
So, we finished in Huntington, Indiana which is home of the Dan Quayle Musueum. So, how do you spell potato?
