Pelican Rapids to Wadena 59 miles

Well today was 59 miles mostly in the rain, but the wind was mild and we certainly appreciated.  So, as bad as the conditions were.... after yesterday, we appreciated the rain.  We all made better time.  Yesterday I pedaled for 6 hours 45 minutes to cover 57 miles.  Today was 5 hours 36 minutes to cover 59 miles.

We have a great group of women here.  All of different levels of cycling, but you can always seem to find someone who is pedaling your pace.  Today I traveled over 35 miles with Jeanette from Southern California and Cathy from Australia.  We were a great team.

The terrain today was rolling hills and flats.  Lots of farm land and many many Minnesota lakes.  The back roads were pretty broken up from the bad winter weather.  The drivers however including the big trucks were very couteous.

This is our setup.  Our van and trailer.  The back half of the trailer is where our meals our cooked.  They are gourmet.  Steel cut oats in the morning and salmon with spinach cheese ravioli and carrot cake for dessert.  We are not starving, but we are also very hungry after our long days of pedaling.

The many lakes of Minnesota

The fertile dirt, green grass and lakes of Minnesota.

After 15 miles in the rain.  Still smiling.

See, I really did make it to Wadena, MN

My new pals Cathy from Australia and Jeanette from Southern California.  We rode the last half in together.....

We made it to Wadena from Pelican Rapids, 59 miles.  Tomorrow is 81 miles, so it's time to get some rest....
