Cleveland rocks!

Cleveland is the home to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.  I did not get a chance to go there on my day off from riding.  From what I have heard, you could easily spend 1 - 2 days going through the four story exhibits.  I would love to come back to Cleveland, stay on Lake Erie and do some sight seeing.  I did take a trolley tour around the city which was alot of fun.

Today we rode 57 miles from Cleveland to Austinburg OH.  The weather was perfect for me, 60 - 68 degrees.  This northwest girl loved it!  The only down side of today's ride were the road conditions.  Ohio needs some monies allocated to fix pot holes and add shoulders to some of their back roads.  But, I had a great ride and I'm feeling stronger & stronger.

I learned some facts about Cleveland yesterday.  One fact is that more fish are caught in Lake Erie than the other four great lakes combined, (mostly perch and walleye).

Me taking a break along the shores of Lake Erie.

Beautiful old architecture in the Ohio City part of Cleveland

The Soldier's and Sailors Monument in downtown Cleveland

The Cleveland Browns Stadium
(One of the only stadiums named after their team)

We spent two days biking along the Lake Erie Ohio Coastal Trail.

The Avenue of 500 flags along today's route.

Lake Erie is amazingly big!  Stormy and choppy today.

We entered some vineyard areas today.  I hear it's mainly grape juice grapes.

Semper Fidelis!  I've passed a few Marine Corps Flags, but this was bright and waving in the wind.  It just beckoned me to stop and take this photo.

On today's ride, I thought to myself that maybe I should just keep riding.... I could pedal in New Zealand over our winter (there summer).  It is sounding like a very good idea at the moment.  I'll keep thinking, pondering and pedaling for now!

Tomorrow, we have another easy day.  We bike 49 miles into Erie Pennsylvania.  We may see some covered bridges tomorrow.  I hope so.  We sure live in a beautiful and diverse country!
