I guess I wasn't happy enough with 68, so I took two wrong turns and added five miles.
It was humid and warm, but not HOT which was relief and we had a slight tail wind pushing us along. I covered 73 miles in 5 hours 34 minutes. My pace is picking up. I am finding that I can just stay spinning.... which is a good thing. So, today I averaged about 12.3 mph.
So, I rode most of the day by myself rocking out to AC/DC in my right ear from my new nano ipod. So, when I was listening to "Dirty deeds done dirt cheap" or "Hell's Bell's" I was really cruising along. I may have slowed a little when I was listening to John Denver, but overall I was spinning and singing.... A good day.
After a few bad turns, I did connect with my buddies Lin, Jan & Carol. The four of us cruised in to our hotel. We are at a Motel 6 tonight, but I have to say it's the nicest Motel 6 that I've ever seen.
It's hard to believe that we are half way now.
Today, we rode 8 miles on the North Coast Inland Bike Trail. It was beautiful and quiet. No cars!
My flag photo of the day at a Fireman's Memorial.
Many farms and even homes have ponds here in Ohio.
We have rode by so many small cemetary's. I was so busy looking at this small one, that I missed my turn. I figured it out a mile down the road. I got turned around and got back on the correct route.
Just a beautiful picture of an interesting round building and water pump.
I got in before 1:30pm today which was great. Had a shower, lunch and now finishing my laundry. So, I'll be ready to ride tomorrow. We ride into Cleveland Ohio tomorrow and there we will have a rest day.
Keep the emails and texts coming my way. I truly look forward to hearing from you.
