Wabasha MN to La Crosse WI

Today we rode 71 miles from Wabasha to LaCrosse.  We all had an adventure at the end of the day.  The cue sheet we were givin had some mis-steps and we all ended up with a different journey.  Carol, Karen & I took the trail.  However it was big gravel instead of hard pack, so after 2 miles, we got off of that, but then were disoriented on the roads.  We eventually found our way to the intended route.  Due to heavy weekend traffic, our guide Denise picked us up at a trail head so we could stay off of the busy roads.  The good news is today was supposed to be 71 miles and with our extra adventures, we ended up with 71 miles.
That's the girls.  Always a bit ahead of me.  That is good though as they push me.

Turtle Crossing.....

Little House on the Prairie

Ma & Pa must have met under this tree....

What would a day be without a picture of the American Flag flying proud.  I have never seen so many flags than in Minnesota & Wisconsin.

We just finished lunch at the best little coffee house in Winona MN called the "Acoustic Cafe".  Then we stopped at a bike shop and got my odometer fixed.  A nice cycling man stopped to take our photo.
L to R is Karen, Lee, me, Jan & Carol.  What a group we are!!

My first turtle sighting although many have seen them earlier in the ride.

We crossed a state line, so Margaritas are on hand.  Donna is testing the recipe.  We had grilled steak & chicken tonight.  Our chef Patty is a wonderful cook.  She is keeping us well fed.  Our entire group is alot of fun.  The comaraderie is wonderful between all of us.  We are thankful to be officially in Wisconsin.  I am enjoying the beauty of the Midwest.

Tomorrow we are heading 69 miles to Prairie Du Chain, WI.  I appreciate all of your emails and comments.  They truly do help.  Onward!
